GOOGLE ANALYTICS 4 – A MODERN OPEN ACCESS TOOL FOR MONITORING THE USE OF THE SCIENTIFIC DIGITAL LIBRARY WEB RESOURCE

The use of open information and digital systems is a powerful auxiliary tool in conducting scientific and pedagogical research. The problem of monitoring the use of electronic libraries of educational institutions and scientific institutions, which are the only repository for storing scientific heritage, is relevant. The purpose of the publication is to monitor the use of the web resource of the scientific digital library with the help of a modern open access tool – the information and analytical system Google Analytics 4. The article analyzes the web resource of the Institute of Digitalization of Education of the NAES of Ukraine – the Digital Library of the NAES of Ukraine using the Google Analytics 4 service for the period 01.09.2023-2024. The processes of attracting, visiting, and retaining visitors to the library's website were tracked by the main web analytics indicators: number of users in total; number of new users; number of returning users; average interaction time per active user; number of sessions with interaction per active user; number of events; average interaction time; number of views; user actions over a certain period of time; user loyalty, etc. The study used analytical and statistical research methods. In order to get information about the behavior of visitors on a web resource and understand the main directions of their requests, it is necessary to constantly monitor and analyze these web analytics indicators. This data helps to adjust the content of the site and identify the main problems to solve, how to improve the web resource, find new tools for its online promotion, content, interface, and testing the latest functionality. It has been found that using the free analytical service Google Analytics 4, it is possible to monitor and analyze the performance indicators of the use of scientific and educational web resources for a certain period, as well as to assess the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of traffic.
