The article is devoted to the study of the importance of participation of students of military educational institutions in scientific societies as a tool for developing their foreign language competence. The role of scientific societies as a platform for developing foreign language communication skills, deepening knowledge of professional terminology and improving the overall level of language competence is considered. As part of the study, a survey was conducted among 50 cadets who participate in the activities of scientific societies. The survey allowed us to identify the main trends in the effectiveness of using scientific clubs in the process of foreign language training. The analysis of the survey results showed that the majority of cadets regularly join the meetings of the circles, but the level of involvement and work with foreign language sources remains uneven. At the same time, the survey results demonstrated that systematic participation in such clubs contributes not only to improving language skills, but also to the formation of critical thinking, the ability to analyze and discuss scientific issues in a foreign language. It has been established that effective foreign language competence is an important component of the professional training of military personnel, necessary for successful interaction in a multinational environment. Particular attention is paid to analyzing the methods used in scientific circles to improve foreign language training, in particular: presentations of scientific research in a foreign language, participation in international conferences, research projects using foreign language sources, and work with professional literature. The results of the study demonstrate the potential of scientific clubs as a platform for integrating professional foreign language training with research activities and confirm that scientific clubs are an effective tool for developing cadets’ foreign language competence, as they create a favorable environment for applying knowledge in real-life communication situations, promote academic mobility and integration into the international scientific space. The article also offers recommendations for improving the work of scientific clubs to maximize their potential in the process of foreign language training of cadets.
