MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS HOMEWORK AS A MEANS OF DEVELOPING STUDENTS' CRITICAL THINKING

The national system of higher education emphasizes the importance of training highly qualified specialists capable of making constructive decisions based on critical analysis and rational use of information. This necessitates the formation of critical thinking and the activation of self-education mechanisms, when self-acquired knowledge becomes a key element of operational professional training of students. An important component of this process is homework, during which students can face various challenges. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the use of homework on mathematical analysis for the development of students' critical thinking.
This study includes a survey of 86 students at two universities and an analysis of their responses. Students positively assessed the importance of homework and noted that homework contributes to the consolidation of educational material, helps to better understand mathematical concepts, develops analytical and practical skills, independence, critical and creative thinking. The article also highlights approaches to performing homework on mathematical analysis, aimed at the formation and development of students' critical thinking, and shows the use of various resources and technologies during their performance. The authors indicate the importance of choosing an appropriate approach, taking into account the philosophy of a specific educational institution and the level of training of students. The effectiveness of the "Mathematical Analysis Workbook" technology, which combines different approaches to homework and promotes the development of students' critical thinking, has been studied. The structure of the "Workbook" is considered, which takes into account different levels of complexity, independence and creativity of tasks. The conclusions of the article emphasize the importance of homework as a tool for the formation of critical thinking and independent work of students in the process of studying mathematical analysis.
