Abstract

The simulator complexes based on virtual reality technology are effective means of improving the quality of training of future border guards. It has been found that in the units of law enforcement agencies of the European Union, the use of simulation training based on virtual reality technology increases motivation and promotes the transformation of learning outcomes into personal experience, activates the brain and arouses interest and maintains a positive attitude to learning. It has been established that integration of information and communication technologies in the educational process of departmental educational institutions requires a higher level of didactic and pedagogical competencies of instructors and teachers. Properly planned exercises on simulators based on virtual reality develop critical thinking, decision-making ability, self-confidence and interaction skills. Therefore, the border agencies of the European Union are now actively implementing in the training of their border guards training complexes based on virtual reality simulators: SymSG Border Tactics of the Polish border agency is used to improve tactics of border protection specialists at checkpoints, practice decision-making skills in complex operational and service environment; the simulator for training border guards for check documents on the first line of control developed by Frontex agency for personnel of the border guard agences of the countries of the European Union, which allows to carry out training of experts of the first line border control on the basis of the professionally-oriented cases; virtual reality simulator for real-time operational and service tasks of Finnish military and law enforcement agencies, designed on the basis of the virtual combat training system "Virtual Battle Space". Thus, the training of Ukrainian border guards for their effective actions in the framework of Integrated Border Management requires introduction of innovative European experience of law enforcement agencies regarding implementation of virtual training complexes in the training of Ukrainian border guards, which requires further in-depth study.
