DEVELOPING SKILLS IN THE USE OF GOOGLE CALENDAR IN PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES IN FUTURE PHYSICAL THERAPISTS

Abstract

The article substantiates and reveals methodological approaches to developing the skills of future rehabilitation specialists in the effective use of the Google Calendar cloud service in their professional activities. It has been determined that modern physical therapy practice requires specialists to possess a high level of organization, effective time management, and efficient coordination with patients and colleagues. The growing complexity of professional tasks, including planning individual and group sessions, organizing consultations, preparing for educational events, and maintaining documentation, highlights the need to implement digital tools. Based on an analysis of Google Calendar's functional capabilities, such as real-time collaboration, reminders, recurring event scheduling, and integration with other Google services, methodological recommendations for practical work have been developed. A structure for the lesson «Using Google Calendar to optimize the workflow” has been proposed, consisting of several stages. The first stage covers the basic principles of working with the service, including creating and configuring separate calendars for different aspects of activity. The following steps provide a detailed description of how to create and configure events, including utilizing the recurring events feature for regular sessions and setting up multi-level reminders. The importance of adhering to ethical standards and patient confidentiality when sharing calendars is emphasized. Integration with Google Meet for remote consultations and the use of Google Tasks for recording daily tasks are discussed. A practical algorithm for daily and weekly use of Google Calendar has been developed, ensuring systematic planning and monitoring of professional tasks. The proposed methodological approaches contribute to the formation of digital competence and effective professional management skills in higher education students.
