DIGITAL COMPETENCE AS ONE OF THE BASIC COMPETENCES OF FUTURE TEACHERS OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

Abstract

The article focuses on the concept of "digital competence", as well as on the digital competence of a teacher as one of the basic competencies in a digital society. Scientific works, regulatory and legal support, which reveal in detail the concept of "digital competence", are analyzed, a list of digital skills of teachers belonging to this competence, as well as tools for diagnosing the levels of its formation, are given. The groups of digital knowledge, skills, abilities and value guidelines that today's teachers of computer science should possess are outlined. They are related to the search and critical reflection of information, arranging, preserving, protecting and using it in the educational process; on the use of digital services for educational activities, professional and personal self-fulfillment; modification, creation and distribution of educational digital resources, including for shared use; for the organization of safe activities, interaction of participants in the educational process on the Internet; the use of digital resources for the organization of distance and blended learning; combined with the organization and support of the work of the information systems of the educational institution (platform for distance learning, information systems of the management of the educational institution, etc.); monitoring of their own professional activities. It has been established that the levels of digital competence are basic, sufficient, high and expert. It has been found that the formation and improvement of digital competence of future teachers of computer science and mathematics are influenced by the presence of a modern safe digital environment in a higher education institution, the availability of an appropriate level of digital competence of teachers, updating curricula following the conditions and needs of the digital society, ensuring the accessibility and transparency of educational services, the presence of a certain level of motivation of higher education students aimed at continuous self-improvement, in particular in the context of digital literacy, etc.
