Abstract

This article explores the impact of programming Olympiads on students' motivation to learn computer science and provides an overview of their influence on interest and understanding of programming. It emphasizes the importance of preparing young professionals with computer skills, particularly in programming, in the context of transitioning to an information society. The significance of school programming Olympiads is highlighted for identifying and preparing candidates for future careers in the field.

Several studies indicate a significant impact of programming Olympiads on students' motivation to study computer science and their choice of future careers in IT.
