The article examines research activity as an effective component in developing communicative and intercultural competences of non-philological students. The author investigates the theoretical foundations and contemporary methodological approaches to integrating research work into the educational process, particularly competence-, activity-, and project-based approaches, which simultaneously foster the development of professional, communicative, and intercultural skills in students. The study analyzes recent domestic and international scientific sources, European Union recommendations, and European language education standards, emphasizing the importance of communicative and intercultural competencies for lifelong learning and professional practice. Examples of forms and methods of organizing research activity in higher education for non-philological disciplines are provided, including individual and group research projects, case studies, role-playing games, international and interdisciplinary projects, participation in conferences and scientific clubs, as well as the use of digital and AI tools for data collection, analysis, and presentation. The pedagogical conditions for effective student engagement in research activity are identified: phased involvement in the research process, creation of student research groups, integration of research tasks into academic courses, and provision of international and intercultural research contexts. The study demonstrates that active student participation in research activity contributes to the development of academic writing, oral communication, presentation skills, critical thinking, intercultural sensitivity, and readiness for professional interaction in a global environment. The conclusions highlight that research activity serves as an integrative mechanism that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills in communication and intercultural interaction, while also fostering transversal competencies essential for a modern, competitive non-philological specialist.
