COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF SUCCESS OF FUTURE DOCTORS DURING DISTANCE EDUCATION DURING THE COVID-19 PERIOD AND OFFLINE EDUCATION DURING THE PERIOD OF MARTIAL STATE

Abstract

Today, distance education, or the partial use of its elements, is considered to be an undoubtedly effective system of education that has all the possibilities for adaptation to the needs of the educational process. However, this format of acquiring knowledge, skills, and abilities in the practice of preparing future doctors for employment has been forced to be used since the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The article presents the results of a bibliographic analysis of sources containing information on the problem under study, as well as a cursory content analysis of legislative and regulatory documents. The peculiarities of the organization and implementation of the educational process in medical higher education institutions in Ukraine during the Covid-19 pandemic and during martial law are described, namely the traditional form of practical classes in the discipline “Life Safety; Fundamentals of Bioethics and Biosafety,” the advantages and disadvantages of its use are highlighted. The challenges of the educational process caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia's war against Ukraine are described in medical institutions of higher education and directly at Poltava State Medical University. Changes and innovations in the system of assessment of knowledge, skills, and abilities of future doctors during the organization of the educational process in forced non-standard conditions are described, as well as the impact they had on the formation of knowledge, skills, and abilities of higher education students and the consequences of their use. The results of a comparative analysis of the performance of future doctors during distance learning during COVID-19 and offline learning during martial law are described and presented graphically in the form of bar graphs. Based on observations, the author formulates her own opinion and summarizes considerations regarding distance learning for medical students in Ukraine during the COVID-19 pandemic and martial law.
