SWAY SERVICE AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO POWERPOINT

Abstract

Computer tools for creating presentations are developing very quickly and are perceived as a necessary tool for supporting the educational process. It is shown that today there are a large number of services that allow you to create presentation material: Prezi, Google documents, Haiku Deck, Apple Keynote, SlideRocket, SlideDog, Slides, and others. To date, the PowerPoint program is conventionally considered the main program for creating presentations. But there are alternatives, among which we consider the Sway cloud service, which is gaining more and more popular among users, to be the most interesting. The Sway service is shown to work in all modern browsers on both computers and mobile devices on any platform. The leading characteristics of the service have been confirmed: universality – all actions from text to animation are created within the environment. The service does not require the use of several programs; accessibility – access to presentation layouts is provided to several users at the same time, that is, other users can view the presentation via the link, but will not be able to edit it; browser platform – ready-made presentations look like one single large canvas of a web page; integration with social networks - the ability to share your presentation with other users; predictiveness - when creating a presentation, you only need to add its content, and the program itself will do the design. Thus, the work on the presentation is accelerated; cross-platform - you can use the web version or download the program to your PC, and it does not matter what operating system is installed on the computer; integration with content - the program is designed to use data located on the Internet; simplicity – you can start working on the program without prior preparation; free – the program is available to all users with a Microsoft account.
